Living the News

I was in the local news twice last Thursday.

The first was because I attended the local Democrat Party's "Democratic National Convention" speech night. Couldn't stay and listen to Obama because of the Tour of Wurdz afterwards, but I did hear Gore and listen to Stevie Wonder. There was a random photo taken of me at posted on the Clarksville Online Blog, and then you can see my red cowboy hat in the background of the folks who want Obama as President.

After that event, I went to the Tour of Wurdz and I was mentioned in an article ran in the Leaf Chronicle (the local paper) the day of the show. Both of these issues I feel strongly about - Obama and spoken word. You know he won two Grammys for his spoken word albums from both of his books on audio?

In other news, one of the first things I was going to blog about was the following news on the front page of the local paper. Military and zero energy housing is going up in Fort Campbell soon. Interesting, they are going to need people of my occupation that I'm about to start, love to see even the slightest of opportunity (even though I won't be living around here!). I haven't even truly opened my eyes to the National and World opportunities available soon. Very good times indeed.

SnagFilms

Documentaries have been a passion of mine for years now. I love educational, thought-provoking entertainment. Enjoy user driver content a lot, as well as free up-loaded films on the net. Snagfilms is super dope. Had the pleasure of watching docs today and they have some great ones. This prompted further researching clicks of Google and I was over-loaded by cool films that seem interesting. Saw "How to Cook Your Life" earlier through a similar site (super, super cool - they even have some of Jodorowsky collected from youtube). That last site is just a collector site of people loading films, which means a lot don't work or bad quality, but there are gems in the rough though.

The main reason Snagfilms really fits with this blog is the fact that so far I've watched two episodes of a PBS Series about Design, green building and permaculture focused design that is. It's called (e squared). The idea of super efficient buildings really inspires me. What's happening in China these days really hits me hard. I can't wait to one day go there, even face the pollution for the chance to work in efficiency housing design and implementation. These shows are a great revelation for anyone who hasn't heard of McDonough or Cradle to Cradle yet. I do have to admit that I admire McDonough a lot and it seems like such a wonderful revolutionary job and truly inspiring. You'll probably read me saying it over and over, but I love TED (Technology Entertainment Design ideas worth spreading).

First Blog = Big Deal

I've been waiting for some reason to start my own professional blog concerning my career and interests. What I've always wished and dreamed to start to happen with my life has started. I just want to build energy efficient homes, but design and learn along the way. I'm excited to become an energy auditor and learn about the convention circuit. I would love nothing more than to become an expert in cutting edge technology well-tested for durability within the market (especially the Chinese field, as well as, concerns with the American and European market as they keep expanding). This is going to be my little gem watching the transformation of the industry upon its head. I want to know EVERYTHING! You'll soon learn my tastes and recommend stuff my way.

Note: Most of the only people who will even read this is because you know me, or just met me recently and I had to tell you to find something on this blog or I might just chronicle stuff for future conversations and essays, either way it's a win/win situation for all of us.

Let's also establish some rules of my blog. I'm a dreamer and an optimist, but live and breathe extensive research and gut feelings. I'm obsessed with knowing the right answer to my questions and knowing the ends and outs of everything. This blog will help me note the moments I'm living in, as well as, most everyone else if they picked up that wavelength. I'm human, so please stay as open minded as you possibly can and neither one of will butt heads. Opinions are always exciting, so please share yours, but stay constructive, alright?

Let me know you're here sometimes and feel free to email me at any time.

I love new people, so this means you too.

Secretly I obsess a great amount of things, so I'm not as specialized enough as I want, so this is another reason I have started this beautiful part of my life that I like to call "Obsessed With Energy" right now. This blog is all about interdependent building structures, construction technology, news that I find interesting for one reason or another (please read everything when you start) and all things sustainable. It's okay if you don't want to read and/or watch everything, but please take a chance sometimes and see what happens.

There are many hobbies that fascinate me, and even more people who do. The search for a mentor, and a great teacher have begun. I'm mostly interested in people who are much, much more intelligent and know more than I do, types.

The very cool thing that's happening lately is the fact I'm going to start an internship with Southface Energy Institute in Atlanta, Georgia, United States of America, that it crazy exciting to even contemplate all I'm going to learn and get myself enthralled with, but my enthusiasm and drive to learn and excel are second to none. I know myself pretty well at this time in the game. I'm here to set an example within my industry and get to know everything to the roots. I know what I want and I want this blog to inspire another person, it just takes one.

Without further ado, let me just say, get ready to rock.
