Germany on My Mind

Looks like Germany is popping up again... with the Passive House Institute that is! Interesting indeed.

LEED AP Changes

Here is an overview from a blog that details the upcoming 2009 USGBC changes to the LEED AP (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional).

I poured over a fellow intern's literature he got from Greenbuild 2008 in D.C. and expect for me to sort through that stuff some day soon... the blogging gene is flowing heavily and I have a mountain of links to sort!!!

Fellow colleagues went to Greenbuild this year as well and came back with their updates. Maybe next year I can go (I just have to!). The first link does summarize the upcoming changes. This is a great thought for the next year as well. Here goes becoming a LEED for Homes AP woo hoo!

The Perfect Storm

It is brewing and 2009 might be the true take-off year. I won't be an intern any more, that's for sure (ha ha). I get pumped just thinking about the possibilities and the good happening right now!

These days, I'm trying to focus on the big and the small picture at the same time, while trying to keep my head screwed on as tightly.

My dream job is still being an alternative building instructor. Just stay tuned, we'll get there.

Obamarama

Realized that I haven't blogged to thank America for electing Obama.

I'm even more giddy that energy efficiency is part of his plan.

I was speechless yesterday when I heard that the Transition Team called the Executive Director of my job (Southface Energy Institute in Atlanta, GA) asked to speak with him about energy policy. Isn't that stunning? My mind's mouth dropped open.

The American Dream is alive and well, just like he said. Thanks America! I feel like living here now, for once in a very long time.

Crazy Busy, but Happy

There are no words to describe how busy my life is lately, so sorry for neglecting this blog. Think of it very often... I will try and be more diligent.

This is my fun way of chronicling sustainability... gotta have that in my life! Work provides a lot, but that says something when I enjoy it in my free time as well (ha!).

Use the Sun, Duh!

I can't get enough new solar technology in my life...

I'm looking forward to walls becoming like human skin and thin film solar is a step in that direction.

A solar car made it around the world!
